THROUGH THE DESERT. DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE IN THE FACE. THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED
WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.. THEY KEPT ON WALKING, UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE ! AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM. AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING,
HE WROTE ON A STONE: 'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE '. THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,
YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?' THE FRIEND REPLIED 'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE I T DOWN IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY. BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US, WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT.' LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE. THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON, AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM, A DAY TO LOVE THEM, BUT THEN AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM. 4 février loving, caring and respecint parentsI read this on a freinds blog, mashAllah, must read - A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about Grandfather,” said the son. “I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.” So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather’s direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making?” Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather’s Hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his Days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. Children are remarkably perceptive. Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb. If they see us patiently provide a happy home atmosphere for family members, they will imitate that attitude for the rest of their lives. The wise parent realizes that every day the building blocks are being laid for the child’s future. Let’s be wise builders and role models. “Life is about people connecting with people, and making a positive difference.” Take care of yourself, and those you love, …today, and everyday! That regardless of your relationship with your parents, you’ll miss them when they’re gone from your life. Remember that making a “living” is not the same as making a “life.” Remember that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you. Sometimes people just need a little something to make them smile. People will forget what you said… People will forget what you did… But people will never forget how you made them feel… 11 janvier The Lioness of Syria! SuhanAllahhThe Lion(ess) Of Syria Khaalid bin Al-Waleed had besieged Damascus. He had sent a Muslim blocking force to the north to prevent Roman reinforcements from coming to replenish the garrison at Damascus. At the head of this army was the commander Dhiraar - the lion of Syria who used to fight amongst the armoured enemies of Islaam naked from the waist up! He was a fierce warrior who had unfortunately been captured by the Roman reinforcements since their army was twice the strength of the Muslims, and he had launched headlong into the ranks of the enemies by himself, killing so many of the foe that his companions could not keep up with the pace. Soon he was too far into the ranks of the Romans, and was surrounded and captured. Khaalid bin Al-Waleed, upon hearing this, mobilized 5,000 from amongst the besieging force at Damascus and rode like the wind to come to the aid of the Muslims. As Khalid approached the battlefield he suddenly saw a Muslim rider flash past him from behind and gallop off towards the Roman front. Before Khalid could stop him, he was gone. A slim, lightly-built person, dressed in black, this rider wore a breastplate and was armed with a sword and a long lance. He sported a green turban and had a scarf wrapped around his face, acting as a mask, with only his eyes visible. Khalid arrived on the battlefield in time to see this rider throw himself at the Romans with such fury that everyone present thought that he and his horse must both be mad. Raafe saw this rider before he saw Khalid and remarked, "He attacks like Khalid, but he is clearly not Khalid." Then Khalid joined Raafe. (second in command) Khalid took a little time to organize Raafe's group and his own Mobile Guard into one and deploy it as a combined force for battle. Meanwhile the masked rider treated the Muslims to a thrilling display of horsemanship and attacks with the lance. He would go charging on his own, strike the Roman front at one point and kill a man; then go galloping away to another part of the front, again strike someone in the Roman front line and so on. A few Romans came forward to tackle him but all went down before his terrible lance. Marvelling at this wondrous sight, the Muslims could still see nothing more of the warrior than a youthful figure and a pair of bright eyes shining above the mask. The rider appeared bent on suicide as with his clothes and lance covered with blood, he struck again and again at the Romans. The example of this warrior put fresh courage into the men of Raafe, who forgot their fatigue and went into battle with renewed high spirits as Khalid gave the order to attack. The masked rider, now joined by many others, continued his personal war against the Romans as the entire Muslim force attacked the Roman front. Soon after the general attack had begun, Khalid got near this rider and called, "O warrior, show us your face." A pair of dark eyes flashed at Khalid before the rider turned away and galloped off into another assault at the Romans. Next, a few of Khalid's men caught up with him and said, "O noble warrior, your commander calls you and you turn away from him! Show us your face and tell us your name so that you may be properly honoured." Again the rider turned away as if deliberately trying to keep his identity a secret. As the masked rider returned from his charge, he passed by Khalid, who called to him sternly to stop. The rider pulled up his horse, and Khalid continued, "You have done enough to fill our hearts with admiration. Who are you?" Khalid nearly fell off his horse when he heard the reply of the masked rider, for it was the voice of a girl! "O commander, I only turn away from you out of modesty. You are the glorious commander, and I am of those who stay behind the veil. I fight like this because my heart is on fire." "Who are you?" "I am Khaulah, sister of Dhiraar. My brother has been captured, and I must fight to set him free." 24 novembre Nafsss - excellent read!Aoa wr wb

duasss 10 novembre Effective Remedy for Ghaflah* Ghaflah: Being unmindful and heedless of Allah Ta‘ala. If still the nafs is not rectified and is lazy in performance of Salah and fasting, then one should meditate upon death. One should meditate upon the fact that one day he will be laying in the grave. What answer will one give to Allah Ta’ala at that time? “I have just died and after washing and shrouding my life-less body, the people are taking me to the graveyard and burying my lifeless corpse in the grave alone. My wife, children, business and home all have left me, and now, none of these things are of any benefit to me. Only my actions have remained.”Death is a reality, it is definite, and how can there be any doubt about a thing which is definitely going to occur? Death is such a reality that even the kuffar (disbelievers) do not deny. Has any kafir (disbeliever) said that death will not come? Therefore, ponder over the reason for us not performing Salah, and not paying the Zakah. What is the reason for us watching T.V. and V.C.R? What is the reason that we are involved in these evil actions? The reason is to pass time and entertain ourselves. But ponder over the fact that when we are lowered into the grave, what will enter the grave with us? What will we entertain ourselves with then? How many T.V.’s and V.C.R.’s will we take with us? There will be no V.C.R in the grave, rather there will be punishment. Therefore, wake up from this heedlessness and do not entertain yourself with the disobedience of Allah Ta‘ala. That slave who pleases his heart at the cost of displeasing his Master is in total loss. Just the following statement is sufficient for the guidance of someone, ‘The slave who pleases his own heart (by living a life of disobedience) at the cost of displeasing his Master, is in total loss.’ i.e. at any time the punishment of Allah Ta’ala could descend upon him. Allah Ta’ala is giving us chance after chance in hope that we will rectify ourselves. Nabi (saw) says, “Remembrance of death is a sufficient lecturer and preacher.” It is sufficient for guidance. It recharges one’s spiritual battery. One should also sit in pious company. Wherever there is any beneficial Deeni talk, then go there. Look! How far our pious predecessors used to travel to learn Deen! 21 octobre Marriot Hotel explosion conspiracies... hmmmI received this email, its pretty interesting...
Some Questions about the '9 20' incident at Marriott Hotel in Islamabad
1. Why a US embassy truckload of steel boxes was unloaded and shifted inside the Marriott Hotel on the same night when Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad? (two nights before this devastating explosion) 2. Why both the main gates (the entrance and the exit) of the hotel were closed while no one except the US Marines were either allowed to go near the truck or get the steel boxes unloaded or shift them inside the hotel. 3. Why these steel boxes were not passed through the scanners installed at the entrance of the hotel lobby and were reportedly shifted to the 4th and 5th floors of the Marriott? (Our PM Gillani was even asked to go through the security checks on US airport, even removing his shoes in the recent visit to US.) 4. Why the truck loaded with explosives T&T, RDX and explosives hit the barrier outside the Marriot Hotel where as the fire was seen on exactly the 4th and 5th floor with unusual intensity and flame color that could not be extinguished and later burned entire of the Hotel. 5. If the explosives had Aluminum Powder that created fire (as told my Rehman Malik) then why this Aluminium Powder only created fire on the 4th and 5th floor of Marriot and why not on the ROAD SIDE? Why not on the adjacent building of Marriott? Why not on the trees along side the explosion area? Why not on the other side of the road that had other buildings as well? Were the explosives intelligent enough to strike the 4th and 5th floor of Marriott to cause such an uncontrollable fire? Why only the 4th and 5th floor of Marriot hotel that was sealed two nights back and US Marines shifted steel boxes without security checks of hotel? 6. Why the suicide truck hit the barrier on the left side of the building entrance/gate but the fir broke out on the top floor (5th floor) on the right side and exactly above the lobby? 7. Why US Marines were seen entering the Hotel building AFTER THE EXPLOSION HIDING THEIR FACES (captured on AAJ TV footage) soon after the explosion? They were supposed to be inside the hotel right? What were they doing outside that too in uniform, if they had booked the rooms in 4th and 5th floor they should have been in there? And why such top US marines had checked in a public hotel a few days back and why they had to shift such confidential material in steel boxes in a public place? 8. Why all of a sudden sources had to say the GAS PIPE line inside the hotel caught fire? When the incident had just taken place? Was this pre decided that GAS PIPE will catch fire and there could be nothing else? Why it was stated in such a rush before an inquiry had taken place? 9. Why later Rehman Malik said investigations suggest that Aluminum powder was the reason for such high intensity fire? Why such drastic change of statements? 10. Why the US Marines had to risk their lives and go inside the hotel building when they were not from rescue teams or Pakistan security forces? Was there something to hide or cover? Was their something to check because the plan had not executed to perfection (the truck exploded outside where as it was planned to explode in front of the reception) or they never wanted the Rescue forces to get some clue (unexploded material on 4th or 5th floor)? 11. Why the fire further detoriated after the US Marines went in the hotel building? 12. How come the fire increased to such an extent that it encapsulated the entire building raising the inside temperature to 400 Degrees? 13. Why the US ambassador in Islamabad first announced that there were absolutely no US personnel in Marriott Hotel and no one was residing there but later had to change her statement that MAY BE there were some US marines inside the hotel (THIS STATEMENT CAME AFTER THE MEDIA, AAJ TV FOOTAGE CAUGHT US MARINES GOING IN THE HOTEL) 14. Why US embassy had to hide and lie in first place that there were no US related people inside the Hotel. 15. WHY PENTAGON CONFIRMED THE DEATH OF 2 US Marines on the next day but denied to disclose the names or show the bodies of them? 16. Why the CDA water tankers and fire extinguishers, could not start their water pumps because of uncharged batteries to extinguish the fire on 4th and 5th floor? 17. Why the batteries of fire extinguishers of CDA vehicles were not charged even though the Presidential address was to be held right on the same day in the same vicinity? And when Chief of Army staff, PM, Chief Minister, Governors were at one place and security and emergency services were at RED ALERT why the fire extinguishers had uncharged batteries? Is that casual attitude, inadequate facility or a deliberate plan? 18. Why Now there's US National Security Advisor (and one of the few warmongering ultra neocons that is still in the Bush administration), Stephen Hadley, trying to tell the Pakistanis that they need the US to go into Pakistan to get these 'terrorists' because Pakistan hasn't got the wherewithal to do it themselves? 19. Laslty, why was MR. BUSH the first person to convey his condolences to Pakistan and offer assistance of FBI in carrying out investigations? 20. As i write this article, I hear the news that after two days of explosion, still the 4th and 5th floor are burning and smoke is coming out and still the temperature is 350 degress. How in the world can it be possible without chemicals being planted? Remarks: 1. The plan was not executed to 100% perfection but yet carried out smoothly and successfully. 2. High quantity of explosives, T&T, RDX that could only be produced at a military facility was packed up in the truck in the capital of Pakistan. 3. RAW, MOSSAD provided the logistical and financial support through Afghanistan, FATA to their own controlled JIHAD organizations in Pakistan. 4. CIA provided clearance issues, ground support local services to carry out the operation using it's penetration in ISI and it's influence in Pakistan (Hashwani the owner of Marriott Hotel Chains in Pakistan and an international business man was in total control of himself as he watched his hotel burning in flames). 5. The driver got confused, could not strike off the barrier and enter the gate to approach the lobby as planned. Exploded himself outside the barrier when he was obstructed by the vigilant security staff and time started running out for him. 6. The perfect plan would have been, the truck to explode right in front of the lobby enterance (reception) in the center of the building, exploding the entire hotel, the 4th and 5th floor that had the fire catching chemicals and explosives set by the CIA in the cover of US marines would further enhance the impact and help in total down fall of the hotel structure, melting down the hotel at ground zero just like the 9 11. Killing dozens multinationals, foreign journalists, foreign envoys and redirecting the focus of the world especially the EU that the center of militancy and terrorism is Pakistan. Endorsing the Jewish view point that Pakistan is only Muslim state to have nuclear capability and nuclear warheads that could easily fell in hands of terrorists. 7. Terrorizing the people of Pakistan and gaining the sympathies of the world for US to take charge of Pakistan and allow US strikes in Pakistan. 8. Pressurizing the democratic govt. of Pakistan to keep their beaks tight and keep on following the policies of USA as agreed upon by Musharraf. 9. Threatening the newly democratic Govt. of Pakistan and adding to the woes and problems ensuring economic downfall, political de-stability, de moralize security and armed forces of Pakistan. 10. Add fuel to the Civil war going in Pakistan. 11. Put another thumping stamp on the face of Pakistan as a FAILED state. 12. This bomb blast is yet another episode of the US policy to first create terrorists in tribal areas of Pakistan by killing innocent people, villagers, poor civilians creating hatred for the central Govt. & Armed forces of Pakistan. Secondly channeling & facilitating the HATRED and URGE OF REVENGE by the terrorists created out of innocent but emotionally aroused individuals. Providing the cover and umbrella to the flock of such individuals on the name of organizations headed by MUNGAL BAGH, BAIT-ULLAH MAUSED, TALIBAN PAKISTAN with complete logistical and financial support from MOSSAD, RAW, CIA through the consulates in Afghanistan. 13. The one who executes the suicide mission never comes to know in whom hands is he playing with. Never knows who his real target is, instead just plays in the hands of the enemies of Islam & Pakistan. In return, the Govt. jubilates and proudly celebrates their success on finding his HEAD. Soon the investigation goes in back pages as another explosion rips off tasking the Govt. in search of a new HEAD. 14. We should get over this mentality and take a good hard look at the geo-political reality of what is actually happening in our world and has been happening for some considerable time. 15. Last Thursday a US Predator drone aircraft fired off four Hellfire missiles into Pakistan killing seven people. This was just hours after the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, had personally assured President Asif Ali Zardari that the US would in future respect the sovereignty of Pakistan after previous US incursions both into Pakistani airspace and on to Pakistani soil that had resulted in the deaths of Pakistani civilians. 16. It is a whirlpool the US forces will keep on killing innocents, it will keep on striking civil population on name of 'ABU Ameer' and 'Abu ---', Hatred will continue to house deeply in hearts of innocents and naïve tribal people turning them into brutal militants, suicide bombers and aggressors. Govt. will keep on uncovering the HEADS and individuals involved in isolate attacks ignoring to unveil the sponsors, facilitators, and master minds sitting in close corners of Afghanistan and across controlling the top leadership of Mangal Bagh, Bait Ullah Maseud and TTP and helping them in their cause of 'Jihad'. 17. RAW of India, MOSSAD of Israel, CIA of USA helps their common cause by using the weapon of Muslims on Muslims - Jihad. regards Muhammad Ziad Puri Pls forward 19 octobre Music and its effects
16 octobre Muadh Ibn Jabal RAMuadh ibn Jabal was a young man growing up in Yathrib as the light of guidance and truth began to spread over the Arabian peninsula. He was a handsome and imposing character with black eyes and curly hair and immediately impressed whoever he met. He was already distinguished for the sharpness of his intelligence among young men of his own age. The young Muadh became a Muslim at the hands of Musab ibn Umayr, the daiy (missionary) whom the Prophet had sent to Yathrib before the hijrah. Muadh was among the seventy-two Yathribites who journeyed to Makkah, one year before the hijrah, and met the Prophet at his house and later again in the valley of Mina, outside Makkah, at Aqabah. Here the famous second Aqabah Pledge was made at which the new Muslims of Yathrib, including some women, vowed to support and defend the Prophet at any cost. Muadh was among those who enthusiastically clasped the hands of the blessed Prophet then and pledged allegiance to him. As soon as Muadh returned to Madinah from Makkah, he and a few others of his age formed a group to remove and destroy idols from the houses of the mushrikeen in Yathrib. One of the effects of this campaign was that a prominent man of the city, Amr ibn al-Jumuh, became a Muslim. When the noble Prophet reached Madinah, Muadh ibn Jabal stayed in his company as much as possible. He studied the Quran and the laws of Islam until he became one of the most well-versed of all the companions in the religion of Islam. Wherever Muadh went, people would refer to him for legal judgments on matters over which they differed. This is not strange since he was brought up in the school of the Prophet himself and learnt as much as he could from him. He was the best pupil of the best teacher. His knowledge bore the stamp of authenticity. The best certificate that he could have received came from the Prophet himself when he said: "The most knowledgeable of my ummah in matters of Halal and haram is Muadh ibn Jabal." One of the greatest of Muadhs contributions to the ummah of Muhammad was that he was one of the group of six who collected the Quran during the lifetime of the Prophet, peace be upon him. Whenever a group of companions met and Muadh was among them, they would look at him with awe and respect on account of his knowledge. The Prophet and his two Khalitahs after him placed this unique gift and power in the service of Islam . After the liberation of Makkah, the Quraysh became Muslims en masse. The Prophet immediately saw the need of the new Muslims for teachers to instruct them in the fundamentals of Islam and to make them truly understand the spirit and letter of its laws. He appointed Attab ibn Usay as his deputy in Makkah and he asked Muadh ibn Jabal to stay with him and teach people the Quran and instruct them in the religion. Sometime after the Prophet had returned to Madinah, messengers of the kings of Yemen came to him announcing that they and the people of Yemen had become Muslims. They requested that some teachers should be with them to teach Islam to the people. For this task the Prophet commissioned a group of competent duat (missionaries) and made Muadh ibn Jabal their amir. He then put the following question to Muadh: "According to what will you judge?" "According to the Book of God," replied Muadh. "And if you find nothing therein?" "According to the Sunnah of the Prophet of God." "And if you find nothing therein?" "Then I will exert myself (exercise ijtihad) to form my own judgment." The Prophet was pleased with this reply and said: "Praise be to God Who has guided the messenger of the Prophet to that which pleases the Prophet." The Prophet personally bade farewell to this mission of guidance and light and walked for some distance alongside Muadh as he rode out of the city. Finally he said to him: "O Muadh, perhaps you shall not meet me again after this year. Perhaps when you return you shall see only my mosque and my grave." Muadh wept. Those with him wept too. A feeling of sadness and desolation overtook him as he parted from his beloved Prophet, peace and blessings of God be on him. The Prophet's premonition was correct. The eyes of Muadh never beheld the Prophet after that moment. The Prophet died before Muadh returned from the Yemen. There is no doubt that Muadh wept when he returned to Madinah and found there was no longer the blessed company of the Prophet. During the caliphate of Umar, Muadh was sent to the Banu Kilab to apportion their stipends and to distribute the sadaqah of their richer folk among the poor. When he had done his duty, he returned to his wife with his saddle blanket around his neck, empty handed, and she asked him: "Where are the gifts which commissioners return with for their families?" "I had an alert Supervisor who was checking over me," he replied. "You were a trusted person with the messenger of God and with Abu Bakr. Then Umar came and he sent a supervisor with you to check on you!' she exclaimed. She went on to talk about this to the women of Umar's household and complained to them about it. The complaint eventually reached Umar, so he summoned Muadh and said: "Did I send a supervisor with you to check on you?" "No, Amir al-Mumineen," he said, "But that was the only reason I could find to give her." Umar laughed and then gave him a gift, saying, "I hope this pleases you." Also during the caliphate of Umar, the governor of Syria, Yazid ibn Abi Sufyan sent a message saying: "O Amir al-Mumineen! The people of Syria are many. They fill the towns. They need people to teach them the Quran and instruct them in the religion." Umar thereupon summoned five persons who had collected the Quran in the lifetime of the Prophet, peace be upon him. They were Muadh ibn Jabal, Ubadah ibn asSamit, Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, Ubayy ibn Kab and Abu adDardaa. He said to them: "Your brothers in Syria have asked me to help them by sending those who can teach them the Quran and instruct them in the religion. Please appoint three among you for this task and may God bless you. I can select three of you myself if you do not want to put the matter to the vote." "Why should we vote?" they asked. "Abu Ayyub is quite old and Ubayy is a sick man. That leaves three of us." "All three of you go to Homs first of all. If you are satisfied with the condition of the people there, one of you should stay there, another should go to Damascus and the other to Palestine." So it was that Ubadah ibn as-Samit was left at Homs, Abu ad-Dardaa went to Damascus and Muadh went to Palestine. There Muadh fell ill with an infectious disease. As he was near to death, he turned in the direction of the Kabah and repeated this refrain: "Welcome Death, Welcome. A visitor has come after a long absence . . ." And looking up to heaven, he said: "O Lord, You know that I did not desire the world and to prolong my stay in it . . . O Lord, accept my soul with goodness as you would accept a believing soul..." He then passed away, far from his family and his clan, a daiy in the service of God and a muhajir in His path. 30 septembre The prince & Haroon Rashid [very touching and emotional story]Khalifah Haroon Rashid Rahmatullah alaihe had a son, about sixteen years of age, who used to associate frequently with the ascetics and spiritual leaders of those times. He would often go to the graveyard, sit by the graves and say, “There was a time when you inhabited this world and you were its masters. But the world did not protect you and you ended up in graves. Would that I knew what you are experiencing now! I wish I knew what you said in reply to the questions that were asked of you!” He used to recite this couplet very often: “The funerals frighten me everyday, and wailings of the female mourners make me sad.” One day, the young boy came to the court of his father, Haroon Rasheed, while he was sitting in company with viziers, lords and noblemen. The boy was dressed in simple clothes; with a turban on his head; when the courtiers saw him in this condition, they said, “The ways of this mad boy are a disgrace to the Amir-ul-Mo’mineen, in the sight of the kings; if he could admonish him, the boy might give up his foolish habits”. The Khalifah heard this and said to his son, “My dear son, you have disgraced me in the sight of the kings”. At this, the boy did not say a word (to his father), but called out to a bird sitting nearby, “O bird, I ask you, in the name of Him Who created you, to come and sit on my hand,” whereupon the bird flew across to him and perched on his hand. The boy then told it to fly away and it flew back to perch as before. After this, he said to his father, “My dear father, as a matter of fact, it is your attachment of the world that is a disgrace to me. I have made up my mind to part from you”. And, saying this, the boy went away, taking only the Qur’an with him. When he went to take leave from his mother, she gave him a precious ring (so that he might sell it and use the money in case of need). The boy then went to Basrah, to work among the labourers. He accepted employment only on Saturdays, using his day’s wages for seven days, spending a Danaq (One sixth Dirham) each day. The remaining story has been related by Abu Aamir Basri Rahmatullah alaihe, who says. “Once a wall of my house collapsed and I needed a mason to rebuild it. Somebody told me that there was a young boy who did the work of a mason and I went looking for him. Outside the city, I saw a handsome young boy sitting on the ground and reciting the Holy Qur’an with a bag lying beside him. I asked him if he would like to work as a labourer and he said, ‘Certainly, we have been created to toil and labour. What work would you want me to do?’ I said that I needed a mason to do some construction. He said, ‘I shall take a Dirham and a Danaq as my wages for the day, and I shall have to stop work and go to the Masjid when it is time for Salaat; I shall resume work after Salaat.’ I agreed; he came with me and began to work on the wall. I came back in the evening and I was surprised to see that he had done as much work as ten masons. I gave him two Dirhams, but he refused to accept more than a Dirham and a ‘Danaq’ and was gone, taking just as much as had been agreed upon. ‘Next morning, I went out again, 1ooking for him, but I was told that he worked only on Saturdays and that nobody could find him on other days of the week. As I was greatly satisfied with his work, I decided to postpone the remaining construction till Saturday. When Saturday came round, I again went looking for him and found him in the same place, reciting from the Holy Qur’an as usual. When I greeted him, saying Assalaam-o-Alaikum’, he returned my greetings, saying, ‘Wa-‘Alaikum-as-Salaam’ and agreed to work on the wall. Wondering how he had done ten days’ work last Saturday, I watched him working, without being noticed by him. I saw, to my amazement, that, when he put mortar on the wall, the stones automatically joined together. I was sure that he was one the favourites of Allah, as such people are assisted by unseen help from Allah Ta’ala. In the evening, I wanted to give him three Dirhams but he took just a Dirham and a Danaq and went away, saying, I have no use for more than this amount’. I waited for him for another week and went out looking for him again next Saturday, but could not find him anywhere. On my enquiring from people, a man told me that he had been ill for three days and was lying in a deserted place; so I engaged a guide on payment to lead me to the place. We reached there to find him lying unconscious on the ground, his head pillowed on a piece of broken brick. I greeted him, but he did not respond and I said, ‘Assalaam-o-aIaikum’ a bit louder. This time he opened his eyes and recognized me. I laid his head in my lap, but he put it back on the piece of brick and recited a few couplets, two of which I still remember: ‘O my friend, do not be beguiled by the luxuries of the world, for, your life is passing away; the luxuries are short-lived. And when you carry a bier to the grave, remember, one day you, too, will be carried to the graveyard.’ The boy then said to me, ‘Abu Amir, when my soul departs, wash me and shroud me in the clothes that I am wearing now.’ I said, “Dear me, I see no harm in buying new cloth for your shroud”. He said, ‘The living are more in want of new clothes that the dead.’ (These, exactly, were the words spoken by Abu Bakr Radhiallaho anho when he was nigh unto death and willed that he should be shrouded in his old garments, when they asked his permission to buy new cloth for his shroud). “The boy added, ‘The shroud (old or new) will quickly decay. What remains with a man after his death are his deeds. Give this turban of mine and the jug of water to the grave-digger and, when you have buried me, convey this copy of the Holy Qur’an and this ring to Khalifah Haroon Rashid and mind you, deliver it into his own hands and say, ‘These things were entrusted to me by a stranger boy who bade me convey them to you,’ with the words: ‘O Father, take heed, lest you die in heedlessness, beguiled by the world’. With these words on his lips the young boy gave up his soul. At that moment I came to know that he was a prince. “After his death, I washed him, shrouded him and laid him in the grave, even as he had desired and I gave his turban and the jug to the grave-digger. After this, I undertook a journey to Baghdad in order to deliver the ring and the Holy Book to the Khalifah. Luckily for me, when I reached the Khalifah’s palace, his cavalcade was just coming out of the court. I stood on a raised platform and watched the pageant. There came out from the palace a troop of a thousand horsemen, followed by ten more troops, in each a thousand horse¬men. In the last troop rode the Amir-ul-Mo’mineen, himself, on seeing whom I called in a loud voice, ‘O, Amir-ul-Mo’mineen,, I beseech you, in the name of your kinship with Rasulullah Sallallaho alaihe wasallam, to stop awhile’ The Ameer-ul-Mo’mineen stopped and looked round, I went forward at once and handed over to him the two trusts of the deceased prince, saying, ‘These things were entrusted to me by a stranger boy who passed away, leaving a will that these should be delivered into your own hands. The Khalifah looked at the ring and the Holy Qur’an and hung his head in sorrow. I saw tears dripping from his eyes. The Ameer-ul-Mo’mineen, then, told his chamberlain to escort me to his palace and to present me to him when he came back from the promenade. I stayed with the chamberlain in the palace. “When the Khalifah came back in the evening, he ordered the curtains of his palace to be drawn down and told the chamberlain to call me into his presence, even though, he said, ‘The man will just revive my sorrow’. The chamberlain came to me and said, ‘The Ameer-ul-Mo’mineen wants you, but mind you, he is grievously shocked. If you want to say something in ten words, try to put it in five.’ He then ushered me into the private room of the Khalifah, who was sitting there all by himself. The Khalifah told me to sit closer to him and when I had taken my seat, asked me, ‘Do you know that son of mine?’ I said Yes, and he asked me, ‘What did he do for a living?’ I said that he did the work of a mason. The Ameer-ul-Mo’mineen, said, ‘Did you also engage him to do the work of a mason?’ I said that I had done so. The Ameer-ul-Mo’mineen said, ‘Did it not occur to your mind that he had a kinship with Rasulullah’ (Haroon Rasher was a descendant of Abbas Radhiallaho anho, the uncle of Rasulullah Sallallaho alaihe wasallam). I said, ‘O Ameer-uI Mo’mineen! First of all, I beg forgiveness of Allah Ta’ala and then beg your pardon, but I did not know of it at that time. I only learnt about it after he had passed away.’ The Khalifah said, ‘Did you wash your body with your own hands?’ I said, ‘Yes’ and he said, ‘Let me touch your hand’. He then held my hand to his bosom, caressing his chest with it, and recited a few verses which meant: O thou estranged from me, my heart melts away with grief over thee; my eyes shed tears of sorrow! O thou whose burial-place is far, too far, thy grief is closer to my heart. True, death disconcerts most excellent pleasures of the world. Ah, my estranged son was like a moon hanging above a silvery bough. The moon has set in the grave, the silvery bough gone to dust. After this, Haroon Rashid decided to go to Basrah to visit the grave of his son. I, Abu Aamir also accompanied him. Standing by his son’s grave, Haroon Rasheed recited the following verses, ‘O voyager to the Unknown, never shalt thou come back home. Death snatched you away in the first bloom of youth. O coolness of my eyes, thou wert my solace, my heart’s peace, in long lonely hours of night and in brief moments of death, which thy father shall drink in old age. Indeed, each one must taste of Death, be he nomad or a town dweller. All praise be to Allah, the One, Who has no partners; for, these are the manifestations of His Divine Decree. The following night, when I went to bed after observing my daily devotional practices, I dreamt that I saw a domed building bathed in Noor, above which there hung a cloud of Noor. Out of this cloud of Noor came the voice of the deceased boy, talking to me, ‘Abu Aamir, May Allah grant you the best reward (for washing and shrouding me and for acting upon my will)!’ I asked him, ‘My dear friend, how are you faring in the next world?’ He said, ‘I have been admitted to the presence of my Lord, Who is the Most Bounteous One and Who is well pleased with me. He has granted me such Bounties as eyes have never seen, ears have never heard of and minds have never thought of.’ (The reference is to a Hadith Qudsi which narrates as follows: Rasulullah reports Allah Ta’ala as saying “I have prepared for my righteous servants, things that no eye has seen, nor any ear heard of; nor entered in the mind of man”. Abdullah bin Mas’ood Radhiallaho anho narrates; ‘It occurs in the Torah that Allah Ta’ala has prepared for those who forsake their beds to cry unto their Lord (observe Tahajjud Salat) such bounties as no eye has seen, nor any ear heard, nor occurring in the mind of any man, nor does any angel (however near to Allah) know of them, nor are they known to any Nabi or Rasul. Allah Ta’ala says, in the Holy Qur’an: No soul knoweth what is kept hidden for them of joy (mosty pleasing to their eyes). (Sajdah: 17) The boy then said to me (in the dream), ‘Allah Ta’ala has promised me, swearing by His Glory, that He would grant such honours and bounties to all those who come out of the world like me, without being tainted by it!’ The author of ‘Raudh’ says that this story has also come down to him through another chain of narration. This version adds: Someone asked Haroon Rashid about this boy and he said, “This son was born before my ascension to the Caliphate and was brought up very well and was taught good manners. He had learnt the Holy Qur’an and other related branches of religious knowledge, but when I rose to be a Khalifah, he forsake me and went away. My worldly magnificence did not bring him any comfort in life, for he did not like to benefit from it in any way. When he was going away, I asked his mother to give him the ring, the pearl set in which was very precious, but he did not make use of it and sent it back before his death. The boy had been very obedient to his mother.” (Raudh) 28 septembre Touching, shocking and eye opening incidentA Police Officer's Account Extracted from a lecture by Muhammad AlShareef, obtained from Khutbah.com . A police officer in a Muslim country wrote the following letter to a Shaykh describing the events that led to his return to Allah. He recalls: Seeing accidents and crash victims was a normal part of my day, but one incident was different. My partner and I had parked on the shoulder of the highway and began to chat. In a random second, the scene shattered to the hideous sound of metal bodies becoming one. We threw our heads back to see what had happened: a head-on collision, the result of a vehicle slipping into the lane of the oncoming traffic. You couldn't describe the carnage. Two young men sprawled in the first car, both in critical condition. We carried them gently away from the car and rested them on the ground. Quickly we returned to assist the owner of the second car. He was dead. Back we went to the two young men lying side by side on the pavement. My partner began dictating the Shahadah to them. "Say: La iIaha illAllah (there is no god but Allah), La iIaha illAllah..." ... their tongues wouldn't acknowledge. They started humming the hypnotic lyrics of some song. I was terrified. My partner had experience however and he kept repeating his instruction. I stood watching, no movement, eyes locked. Never in my life had I seen anything similar to what was going on before me. In fact, I've never actually seen someone die, and never in such a satanic way. My partner continued to instruct them to say the Shahadah but there was no use. The hum of their song came to a slow silence, slowly. The first one stopped and then the other. Not a stir. Dead. We carried them to our patrol car, my partner made no effort to speak. Not a whisper between us two as we carried the corpses to the nearest hospital. "Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors. " Al Quran 57:16 18 septembre Description of Paradise [Jannah]Asslamualikum wrwb! hmmm this should get us working on our good deeds : ) InshAllah

![]() Salam. Another point to reflect over from Imam al-Dhahabi's book 'Siyar al-Ialam al-Nubala'. (Please note that he was a student of Ibn Taymiyyah) When last in Madinah the Illuminated some people were heard making a supplication for 'al-jiwar' whilst in the Masjid al-Nabawi al-Sharif. May Allah (the Exalted) accept all those supplicants prayers, by the blessings of all those who also supplicated from within the Masjid al-Nabawi at the time.
*** .In the biographical entry of Ubaidah bin Amr (Allah have mercy on him) he said: Muhammad said: I said to Ubaidah: We have a hair of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless Him and give Him peace) from Anas bin Malik. He replied: Would it that I have a hair of His is more beloved to me than all of the gold and silver on the face of the earth.
.
Imam al-Dhahabi commented:
. This statement of Ubaidah is a criteria of complete love, which is to prefer a hair of the Prophet over all of the gold and silver that people possess. This is what this Imam who came 50 years after the Prophet (Allah bless Him and give Him peace) said, but what would we say in our time if we found some of His hair with an established chain (of authenticity), or a strap of a sandle of his, or nail clipping or fragments of a container He drunk from?
.
For if a wealthy person spent most of his fortune in obtaining one of these for himself, would you regard him as squandering (his wealth) or foolish? Never!
.
So spend your wealth to visit His masjid which he built with His hand, and greet Him at His chamber in His city. Take pleasure in looking to His 'Uhud' and love it, for most certainly your Prophet (Allah bless Him and give Him peace) loved it.
. Enjoy staying in His graden (Rawdah) and sitting place, for you will not be a believer until this Master (sayyid) is more beloved to you than your self, children, wealth and all of the people. Kiss the noble stone which descended from paradise, and place your mouth kissing the place kissed by the master of mankind with certainty. May Allah bless you with what you have been given, for there is no greater boast than this. .If we were to obtain the staff with which the Messenger (Allah bless Him and give Him peace) pointed towards the (black) stone, then kissed his staff, it is deserving that we vie with one another to kiss and honour this staff. Whilst we know by necessity that that the kissing of the (black) stone is greater and more virtuous than kissing His staff and sandal.
.
For Thabit al-Banani if he would see Anas would take his hand and kiss it saying: A hand which touched the hand of the Messnger of Allah (Allah bless Him and give Him peace). We say when we have missed such (an opporunity), whilst kissing it: An honoured stone, at the rank of Allahs right hand on the earth, which has been touched by the lips of our Prophet (Allah bless Him and give Him peace).
.
For if you have missed the opportunity for Hajj and meet a group (of pilgims) embrace the pilgrim and kiss his lips and say: a mouth which has touched by kissing a stone kissed by my friend (khalil) Allah bless Him and give Him peace.

THE SPREAD OF A WORLD CREEDThe Times Lucy Berrington finds the Muslim Faith is winning Western admirers despite hostile media coverage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unprecedented numbers of British people, nearly all of them women, are converting to Islam at a time of deep divisions within the Anglican and Catholic churches. The rate of conversions has prompted predictions that Islam will rapidly become an important religious force in this country. 'Within the next 20 years the number of British converts will equal or overtake the immigrant Muslim community that brought the faith here', says Rose Kendrick, a religious education teacher at a Hull comprehensive and the author of a textbook guide to the Koran. She says: 'Islam is as much a world faith as is Roman Catholicism. No one nationality claims it as its own'. Islam is also spreading fast on the continent and in America. The surge in conversions to Islam has taken place despite the negative image of the faith in the Western press. Indeed, the pace of conversions has accelerated since publicity over the Salman Rushdie affair, the Gulf War[1] and the plight of the Muslims in Bosnia. It is even more ironic that most British converts should be women, given the widespread view in the west that Islam treats women poorly. In the United States, women converts outnumber men by four to one, and in Britain make up the bulk of the estimated 10, 000 to 20, 000 converts, forming part of a Muslim community of 1 to 1.5 million. Many of Britains 'New Muslims' are from middle-class backgrounds. They include Matthew Wilkinson, a former head boy of Eton who went on to Cambridge, and a son and daughter of Lord Justice Scott, the judge heading the arms-to-Iraq enquiry. A small scale survey by the Islamic Foundation in Leicester suggests that most converts are aged 30 to 50. Younger muslims point to many conversions among students and highlight the intellectual thrust of Islam. 'Muhammad' said, 'The light of Islam will rise in the West' and I think that is what is happening in our day' says Aliya Haeri, an American-born psychologist who converted 15 years ago. She is a consultant to the Zahra Trust, a charity publishing spiritual literature and is one of Britain's prominent Islamic speakers. She adds: 'Western converts are coming to Islam with fresh eyes, without all the habits of the East, avoiding much of what is culturally wrong. The purest tradition is finding itself strongest in the West.'[2] Some say the conversions are prompted by the rise of comparative religious education. The British media, offering what Muslims describe as a relentless bad press on all things Islamic, is also said to have helped. Westerners despairing of their own society - rising in crime, family breakdown, drugs and alcoholism[3] - have come to admire the discipline and security of Islam. Many converts are former Christians disillusioned by the uncertainty of the church and unhappy with the concept of the Trinity and deification of Jesus. Quest of the Convert - Why Change? Other converts describe a search for a religious identity. Many had previously been practising Christians but found intellectual satisfaction in Islam. 'I was a theology student and it was the academic argument that led to my conversion.' Rose Kendrick, a religious education teacher and author, said she objected to the concept of the original sin: 'Under Islam, the sins of the fathers aren't visited on the sons. The idea that God is not always forgiving is blasphemous to Muslims. Maimuna, 39, was raised as a High Anglican and confirmed at 15 at the peak of her religious devotion. 'I was entranced by the ritual of the High Church and thought about taking the veil.' Her crisis came when a prayer was not answered. She slammed the door on visiting vicars but travelled to convents for discussions with nuns. 'My belief came back stronger, but not for the Church, the institution or the dogma.' She researched every Christian denomination, plus Judaism, Buddhism and Krishna Consciousness, before turning to Islam. Many converts from Christianity reject the ecclesiastical heirarchy emphasising Muslims' direct relationship with God. They sense a lack of leadership in the Church of England and are suspicious of its apparent flexibility. 'Muslims don't keep shifting their goal-posts ,' says Huda Khattab, 28, author of The Muslim Woman's Handbook, published this year by Ta-Ha. She converted ten years ago while studying Arabic at university. 'Christianity changes, like the way some have said pre-marital se is okay if its with the person you're going to marry. It seems so wishy-washy. Islam was constant about sex, about praying five times a day. The prayer makes you conscious of God all the time. You're continually touching base. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Footnotes 1 It is now an established fact that around 5,000 of the US Troops who were stationed in Saudi Arabia became Muslims during and shortly after the Gulf War. 2 Much of the alleged oppression of women is due to localised culture which is based on a superstition that is more akin to Hinduism. It is, however, portrays it as being Islamic in origin which in turn seriously affects the `independence of thought' of those who do not bother to pursue the matter in an objective manner - which includes most people. 3 One of the biggest industries in the West is that of entertainment and amusement. This is essential to maintain the false idea of progress, that what comes next is better and worth enduring for. Peoples minds are preoccupied with their own pleasures and other pursuits while others are being murdered, slaughtered, women raped, innocent babies and children butchered with axes and knives, innocent by-standers in robberies and muggings killed, the aged battered to death by adolescents, thousands dying of drug abuse, thousands of innocent lives destroyed by the consumption of alcohol, drunkards beating their women and children... the list is endless. The entertainments industry is one of the effective tools in the `normalisation of the thought process', the `desensitization of the humanistic concern', and the intensification of the `my pleasure and gratification is what is most important' syndrome. 2 septembre Do you want to finish reading the Noble Quran this Ramadhan?
Do you want to finish reading the
Noble Qur'an this Ramadhan?
All you have to do is read around 4.03 pages after each Salat.
CHECK THIS OUT
4.03 pages x 5 Salat a day
x by 30 days = 604 ===== 604 pages of the Qur'an
WOW !
I never knew it was that easy to read the whole Qur'an each month, by spending few minutes after each Salat.
WHAT AN INVESTMENT !
If you are in real hurry you can finish it once every two months by reading just two pages after each Salat.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT !?
And remember, each letter you read of the Qur'an counts 10 hasanat (good deeds).
What about a word? What about a line? What about a page? What about a chapter?
What about the whole Qur'an?
But remember, we have to make sure our tajweed is correct to the best of our ability. Plus, we have to ponder and reflect over its meaning and act upon it until death and not just in Ramadhan.
31 août Marhaba Marhaba Shahru Ramadhaan (f)27 août part 2 Adab od Tilawah of QuranThe etiquette of reciting the Qur'aan When commencing and during Tilaawat: The Niyyat (intention) for the recital of the Qur'aan must be solely for the purpose of gaining Allah's pleasure and to obtain His favour. Read Ta'awwuz (A'oozu Billahi minash shaytaanir rajeem) and Tasmiyyah(Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem) when commencing recitation. Recite the Qur'aan with complete attention and humbleness and in a befitting manner, as if you are reading in response to Allah's command, and also that you are in His presence and that He is listening to your recital. Do not recite in an extremely loud or very low voice. Keep your voice at a medium pitch. Allah ordains: "Be not loud voiced in your prayer nor too low voiced but follow a way between." When one is alone it is better to recite aloud. However if one is reading in a Masjid or where others are occupied in their Ibaadat, or there is fear of showing off, then it is best to recite softly. Recite in a melodious voice because this has been emphasised in many Ahaadith. Do not sing the verses or imitate the manner and style of the non-Muslims for this is totally forbidden. As far as possible recite the Qur'an in a clear and distinct manner and read the letters correctly and utter the syllables in proper style (tajweed) and recite slowly. The Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) observed: "Use your voice and style to recite the Glorious Qur'an in the best manner." [Abu Dawud]. Nabi (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) used to recite each word in a clear and distinct manner and read each ayat separately. Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) affirmed: "He who recites the Glorious Qur'an will be told on the Day of Judgement: Recite the Glorious Qur'an now in the same clear and distinct manner and in the same harmonious style in which you used to recite it with care and propriety in the world and as a reward for the recitation of each verse you shall be elevated one degree higher and your ultimate place is near the end of the final verse." [At-Tirmithi] It is Waajib (compulsory) to recite the Qur'aan Kareem correctly. Do not recite with haste but make an effort to read with Tarteel (fluency) and with Tajweed (according to the rules of recitation). Feel the impact of the verses during the recitation of the Glorious Qur'an. Rejoice and feel happy on reading about the narrations of Divine Mercy, Forgiveness and the Everlasting bounties of Paradise. And on reading about the narrations of the wrath, anger, and the terrific punishments of Hell, your body should tremble, eyes should flow with tears, and the heart should melt with the sentiments of repentence and shame. Your face should glow with the light of happiness on reading about the successes of the pious and faithful people and you should be seized with deep sorrow on reading about the destruction of nations. The study of ayats containing warnings and forebodings or torments should make you tremble and your soul should be filled to the brim with the sentiments of gratitude on reading the verses which bear glad tidings. When reciting with comprehension, then upon an Aayat describing mercy, ask for Allah's mercy and when reading an Aayat in which punishment is depicted then beseech Allah to save one from such punishment. On an Aayat pertaining to Allah's Glory and Sanctity one should say Sub'haanallah. An effort must be made to understand the Qur'aan and where one is not conversant with the Arabic language one should endeavour to understand the meanings of Aayaat from the Ulama or from authentic translations. The Ahaadith of Rasullullah(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) strictly prohibit the translation and interpretation of the Qur'aan to suit one's own views, more especially so, when one is not fully aquainted with all the related sciences of the Qur'aan. Try to shed tears while reciting even if one has to compel oneself to do so. One must not talk during the Tilaawat of the Qur'aan. If an important matter has to be discussed with anyone then the recital should be stopped and the Qur'aan closed. If one desires to continue reading thereafter then read the Ta'awwuz (A'oozu billahi minash Shaytaanir rajeem), and Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem, and then continue from where one had stopped. It is reported in the Hadith that whoever has recited the Qur'aan and thereafter praised Allah and conveyed blessings upon Rasullullah(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) and asked for forgiveness from one's Sustainer, then surely he has asked for goodness from its very source. Do not place any other book, kitaab or object (hat, cap, turban, or spectacles etc.), on the Qur'aan during or after recital. Do not turn your back towards the Qur'aan during or after recital, and do not sit with the Qur'aan in such a position that it faces someone else's back. If one feels tired and begins to yawn while reading the Qur'aan, then the recitation should be terminated and only continued after having rested or yawned. Do not sit on a place which is higher than the Qur'aan when the Qur'aan is within sight. Do not sleep with your feet towards the Qur'aan. After terminating the recital, place the Qur'aan respectfully on a high shelf, or any other safe place. It is sinful to carelessly discard torn or worn pages of the Qur'aan. Do not throw them in the waste basket or bin. Usable pages must be carefully put into a Taahir-Paak (clean) wrapper and buried in a clean place. Besides the Qur'aan, other pieces of paper or things with the names of Allah and Rasullullah(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) must not be shown disrespect by being carelessly discarded at places where these would be trampled upon. After reciting the Qur'an offer any duaa. The words of one of the prayers offered by Hadrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) are as follows: "Allahummaarzuqnit-tafakkura wat-tadabbura bimaa yat-loohu lisaani min kitaabika wal-fahma lahoo. Wal-ma'rifata bima 'aa-neehi wan-nazara fee 'ajaa 'ibihi wal-'amala bidhalika maa baqeetu innaka 'alaa kulli shay 'in qadeer." ( "O Allah! Whatever my tongue recites from Thy Kitab, grant me in favor to reflect upon it. Allah! bestow upon me the understanding of it. Vouchsafe to me the knowledge of its meaning, and spirit, and the vision to see its niceties. Grant me the favour to act according to its injunctions as long as I live. Engage oneself in the recitation of the Qur'an most of the time and never feel weary of reciting it. Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has affirmed: "Allah has ordained that any man who engages himself in the recitation of Glorious Qur'an so constantly that he finds no time to send prayers to Me, I shall provide him more without asking than those who ask." [At-Tirmithi] Further than this, the Nabi of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) observed: "The servant gets nearest to Allah by means of reciting the Glorious Qur'an." [At-Tirmithi] Instructing the people to recite the Qur'an, Nabi (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) also observed: "The man who has studied the Glorious Qur'an and recites it daily can be likened to a basket full of musk whose sweet smell is making the whole atmosphere fragrant. And the man who has studied the Glorious Qur'an but does not recite it may be likened to a bottle full of musk whose mouth has been sealed with a stopper." [at-Tirmithi] Recite the Glorious Qur'an with the sole motive of seeking guidance. Do not recite the Qur'an for the sake of gaining popularity, or establishing a reputation for good harmonious recitation or making a name for piety. These are base motives and he who recites the Glorious Qur'an with these motives in mind can obtain no guidance from the Qur'an. Keep in mind the glory and value of the Qur'an and as you observe the etiquette of keeping your person neat and clean while reciting the Glorious Qur'an, so also you must purge your heart of evil thoughts, wicked passions and impure purposes. The heart that is tainted with evil and wicked thoughts and passions cannot appreciate and admire the glory of the Qur'an, nor can the bearer of such an evil heart grasp the meanings and realities of the Qur'an. Hadrat Ikrama (radhiyAllahu anhu), whenever he opened the Glorious Qur'an, he often fainted. He used to say "These are the words of my Creator and Glorious Lord." Recite the Qur'an with the conviction that on this earth, this Book is the only source of Guidance for mankind. Meditate and reflect deeply over the meanings of the Qur'an from this viewpoint and try to grasp the realities and learn the wisdom contained in this Book. Do not recite it rapidly but form the habit of reading slowly, distinctly, and with careful understanding of the meanings and try to ponder over the message conveyed to us. Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas (radhiyAllahu anhu) often remarked: "I consider it far better to recite small Surahs like Al-Qari'ah and Al-Qadr with understanding and care than to read through the longer Surahs of Al-Baqarah and 'Ale`-Imran at a rapid pace without careful understanding of the meanings of the words. Nabi (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) once recited this one verse over and over again all through the night: "If Thou punish them, Surely! they are slaves, and if Thou forgive them, Surely! Thou only Thou are the Mighty, the Wise." Recite the Qur'an with full determination to adapt one's life to the injunctions of the Qur'an and to reform the pattern of your living in the light of the guidance provided by it. Make constant endeavors to order one's life in conformity with the Qur'anic injunctions and purge one's life of all impurities. The Glorious Qur'an like a mirror will clearly reflect each blot and spot on one's character. It is entirely one's own responsibility to wash off these blots and stains from one's life provided by the Guidance within the Qur'an. Before commencing Tilaawat: Take care to be completely neat and clean before you sit down for recitation. Do not touch the Glorious Qur'an without performing an ablution (wudhu) and recite it sitting in a clean and tidy place. Perform Wudhu. It is a sin to touch the Qur'aan without Wudhu. It is permissible to recite the Qur'aan from memory without handling the Qur'aan. It is not permissible for a person, on whom ghusl is compulsory, to recite the Qur'aan at all even from memory. Observe proper covering of one's private area when reciting Qur'an. One should wear proper head-dress when reciting the Glorious Qur'an. A male should wear something on his head (turban, koofi, etc.), and a female should cover her hair as if she were to perform Salaat. Use a Miswaak and ensure that the mouth is thoroughly cleansed of any strong or offensive smell such as garlic, raw onion, cigarettes, cigars, tobacco etc. Sit in a secluded place(if possible) facing the Qibla in an extremely dignified manner and recite the Qur'an with your head bowed in humility, with utmost care, complete attention, eagerness of heart and in a proper manner. Allah affirms: "(This is) a Book that We have revealed upon you, full of blessing, that you may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may get guidance from it." [38 : 29].The respect for the Qur'aan should be regarded as binding on every Muslim at all times. One should not lean against anything or stretch out one's legs or lie down whilst reciting. The Qur'aan must be placed on an elevated position such as a rihaal (Qur'aan stand), desk or pillow. Do not place the Qur'aan on the musallah (carpet) or the Mimbar or any place on which people stand or sit. When not reciting Qur'an, the Qur'an should be kept on a high shelf, above all other books and literature. No book should be ever above nor should any book be on top of the Qur'an. Never let the Qur'an touch the ground. The use of Itr is recommended before recital. Do you want to finish reading the Glorious Qur'an this Ramadhan Insha-Allah ? All one has to do is to read around 4.5 pages after each salaah. 4.5 X 5 salaahs a day X 30 days = 604 pages(approximately the number of pages in the Qur'an ) I never knew it was that easy to read the whole Quran each month, by spending few minutes after each salaah, AND WHAT AN INVESTMENT !!! and if one, wants to complete the recitation of the Glorious Qur'an once every two months, recite just 2 pages after each salaah. Each letter one reads counts 10 hasanat; what about a word ?? what about a line ?? what about a page ?? what about a juz??? what about the whole Qur'an ??..........?? May we gather courage and strength to increase our recitation of the Qur'an in the month of Ramadhan.
